The Brief
Design and build an occasional table that is functional, lightweight, and visually compelling. Your piece should express a clear design aesthetic and a thoughtful narrative that supports your choices of scale, proportion, materials, intended use and where it lives. The table must serve a defined purpose, and its form, personality, and material expression should be evident in the final design.
Constraints
Minimum surface height: 12 inches above the ground. Final constructed size: between 12" x 12" x 12" and 22" x 22" x 22. Must be structurally capable of supporting the weight of someone who might accidentally sit on it.
