The Brief
Design and build a self-supporting portable platform with nonadjustable parts. Resolve the design, human factors, and structure. Your design should serve a clear purpose, and its’ personality should show through in the form. In addition, there should be a design aesthetic and narrative behind your choice of attitude and individual finish.
Constraints
For construction, use a single 2' x 4' x 3/4" sheet of plywood. Your team is not permitted to purchase additional materials to increase the scale in any way. The final specifications will have a minimum 12-inch above-the-ground task surface height. Step riser standard elevation is between 6.5” and 9.5”. This project will require you to build 1 stair tread and 1 platform (2 steps). Your Portable Support Platform may include 1 additional material. This material cannot be used in the support structure but added to enhance the personality.
